Kpler is seeking a Backend Engineer to join the founding Connected Supply Chain team. You will build and run core services that extend Kpler’s real-time trade intelligence platform beyond marine coverage into North American inland supply chains.

In this high-autonomy role, you’ll deploy and operate services end-to-end, monitor systems, and collaborate with data science and sensor operations to transform raw telemetry into valuable datasets for early customer adoption.

Formación

• 2 to 4 years of production software engineering experience.
• Strong Python and SQL/Postgres skills.
• Experience deploying backend services in cloud environments (AWS preferred).
• Experience with messaging queues, streaming platforms (Kafka), and RESTful APIs.

Responsabilidades

• Build and maintain scalable ingestion and processing pipelines for sensor, rail, and waterway data using Python, Kafka, and Airflow.
• Develop backend services using FastAPI and contribute to customer-facing web apps using TypeScript and Vue.
• Implement data validation, monitoring, and alerting for time-series data from field hardware.
• Own deployments, observability, and on-call rotations for your services.
• Collaborate with data science and sensor operations teams to turn telemetry into usable datasets.
• Contribute to CI/CD improvements and deliver well-documented code.
