A prominent healthcare organization in Scotland is seeking a Project Manager to oversee the implementation of Realistic Medicine. The role requires a competent individual with excellent project management skills, capable of working independently and managing data analysis. This is a fixed-term position for 12 months, working two days a week, aimed at coordinating critical healthcare initiatives.
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for someone who is looking for a challenging and rewarding role to shape, lead and coordinate Realistic Medicine for NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.
The Chief Medical Officer for Scotland’s Annual Report in 2016: ‘Realistic Medicine’, has challenged Scotland’s Healthcare professionals to change to an approach based on shared decision making, a more personalised approach to care, a reduction in harm, waste and unnecessary variation in practice and outcomes, better management of risk and increased innovation.
Realistic ‘medicine’ includes all professionals who use their skills and knowledge to help people maintain health and to prevent and treat illness. This includes professions such as nursing, pharmacy, counsellors, physiotherapists and social work. Realistic medicine recognises that a one size fits all approach to health and social care is not the most effective path for the patient or the NHS.
We are looking to recruit a competent Project Manager to support the work of the Realistic Medicine Team and to manage and oversee RM implementation within NHSGG&C. The post holder should be a committed and flexible individual who is used to working autonomously, is comfortable with ambiguity and complexity, and is able to work to tight deadlines. The post holder will have excellent organisational and project management skills, established improvement skills and strong interpersonal skills to coordinate the work of the many individuals and teams involved in delivery of Realistic Medicine. The post holder will be comfortable collecting and analysing data with minimal supervision, and will be able to produce clear high quality written reports. This post will also include support for implementation of RM principles that relate to Boards recovery and remobilisation plans.
This is a fixed term ( 12 months) post, 2 days per week.
