Job summary

Costello Medical is seeking an Epidemiologist to join our Real-World Evidence (RWE) team. You will design, implement and report real-world studies, including prospective, retrospective and cross-sectional analyses, and collaborate with clients in the healthcare sector.

The role includes training, project teamwork, and opportunities to progress to project management within six to twelve months. We offer hybrid working, visa sponsorship for eligible candidates, and flexible start dates in 2027.

Qualifications

• A degree level or higher qualification in a relevant subject is required (minimum 2.1 or above).
• A good understanding of epidemiological techniques and data analysis methods.
• A good understanding of statistical techniques, sufficient to engage in technical discussions with our Statisticians.
• The ability to explain complex techniques and results to non-experts with strong written and oral communication.
• Proficiency in R for analyzing large datasets and willingness to develop programming skills further.
• Willingness to trial or recommend new software or techniques for specific projects.
• High accuracy and attention to detail with strong customer service and deliverable quality under multiple deadlines.
• Excellent organisational skills and flexibility to meet changing deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and within project teams; strong written English.
• Excellent written English; this will be assessed during the selection process.
• Desirable: Masters or PhD would be advantageous.
• Desirable: Familiarity with real-world healthcare data sources in the UK or elsewhere.

Responsibilities

• Design and conduct a wide variety of real-world studies (prospective, retrospective, cross-sectional).
• Perform statistical analyses and communicate results to external stakeholders in the healthcare sector.
• Work in project teams and collaborate with clients to ensure high-quality deliverables on time.
• Develop protocols, acquire and analyse data, and contribute to publications and health economic models.
