Job summary

Optiver invites penultimate-year Computer Science/Engineering students to join a ten-week Software Engineering Internship in London or Amsterdam. You will work side-by-side with mentors and teammates to build software for a live trading environment, shipping code to production and learning from experienced engineers.

You’ll gain exposure to trading fundamentals, collaborate with traders and researchers, and have the chance to receive a full-time offer after graduation.

Qualifications

• Penultimate-year CS/CE student, eligible to work full time in 2028.
• Strong coding skills in C++, Python, or Java.
• Interest in financial industry; focus on clean, well-architected systems.
• Right to work in the UK for the full duration of the internship; visa sponsorship not provided.

Responsibilities

• Work with a mentor to build software for Optiver’s real-time trading environment.
• Design, develop, test, and ship code to production with guidance from experienced engineers.
• Collaborate with engineers, traders and researchers to understand requirements and feedback.
• Learn how performance and reliability shape engineering decisions in production.
