Job summary

Optiver offers a ten-week Software Engineering Intern program in the United Kingdom, mentored by experienced engineers. You will build software for Optiver's real-time trading environment, test and ship code, and observe how your work performs in production in a fast-paced data-rich setting.

You'll work with C++, Python, or Java, contribute to performance improvements and reliability, and may be offered a full-time role after graduation in 2028 for London or Amsterdam offices.

Qualifications

• Penultimate-year student in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
• Proficient in C++, Python, or Java.
• Interest in financial industry and excellent problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Mentored by Optiver engineers and traders to design, develop, test and ship code to production.
• Build a foundation in trading fundamentals and the technology that supports them.
• Tackle real-world problems to improve performance and reliability of systems.
• Collaborate with engineers, traders and researchers to understand requirements and feedback.
