Job summary

Balyasny Asset Management L.P. is seeking a Trading Platform Engineer to join our Systematic Technology team.

The role centers on production engineering, reliability, observability, and day-to-day support of a high-performance, low-latency trading platform in London. You will work closely with trading, quantitative researchers, and developers to ensure the platform remains stable, well-monitored, and responsive to front-office needs, with ownership of monitoring, automation, and operational

Qualifications

• Experience in production engineering or SRE in real-time or trading environments.
• Strong monitoring, alerting and incident management skills.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot application and system behavior in Linux.
• Comfort working with front-office users and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide production support for a high-performance, low-latency trading platform in a live trading environment.
• Monitor system health, trading workflows, and platform behavior to ensure reliability and rapid issue detection.
• Respond to production incidents, drive triage and resolution, and coordinate across teams.
• Support front-office users by investigating trading issues and answering workflow questions.
• Own and improve monitoring, alerting, telemetry, and operational dashboards.
• Develop automation, runbooks, and operational tools to reduce risk.
• Perform root cause analysis on production issues and drive follow-up actions.
• Support release processes, change management, and controlled production rollouts.
• Monitor data quality, platform behavior, and workflow exceptions across processes.
• Partner with engineering to improve observability and operational readiness.
• Help define and maintain production standards and controls.
