Real Estate - Social Housing Associate Solicitor

A Manchester office of a national law firm requires a 1+ PQE Social Housing Associate Solicitor to join one of the countries leading Housing teams.

The Housing team advises on all aspects of development transactions including large scale regeneration, s106 acquisitions and golden brick transactions.

The Housing role will concentrate upon Real Estate transactions and will require the ideal candidate to have experience of development projects within social housing
(including specialised supported living), specialist education and/or residential care sectors, and will have related experience in commercial property.

The main duties will be to:

·Support the real estate investment team with acquisitions and asset management matters on behalf of developers, investment funds and housing providers, with a particular focus on real estate transactional work typically involving property due diligence, set up of commercial lease structures, and related reporting to lenders on property due diligence both in relation to property acquisitions and re-financings.

The role will also include investigating title, site and land acquisition, dealing with complicated planning and estate management.

The successful candidate is likely to have previous experience within a real estate, development, commercial property or generalist property profession in legal or professional services and will be able to demonstrate experience in these areas.
Knowledge and experience that would be beneficial for this role includes:
·Experience in property - both leasehold and freehold including investigation of title and reporting work and the acquisition of sites for development;
·Knowledge and understanding of affordable housing products, regulation and procedures; and
·Knowledge of the housing sector, including the HE grant programme requirements and particular contractual structures to enable development of affordable homes by registered providers of housing for rent, shared ownership or outright sale.
·Knowledge of the specialist education and residential care sectors.
