An award-winning City Boutique firm is seeking an experienced partner to enhance its Strategic Land practice. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-quality, varied projects in the Real Estate sector, focusing on landowners, developers, and promoters. The firm values collaboration and provides partners with a significant say in the direction of the practice. Ideal candidates will have at least 11 years of experience from a leading law firm and possess strong commercial and interpersonal skills. This is a unique opportunity to step into a role that promises growth and influence within a respected firm.
Our client is an award-winning City Boutique firm which combines high quality work with a superb environment. The firm is Real Estate sector led, offering services including Corporate, Real Estate Finance, Real Estate (development, investment and asset management), Litigation, Planning, Tax and Construction.
The high quality and well respected Strategic Land practice is busy and at a size where an additional partner is sought - in order to grow and develop the current practice and also to plan for succession in the coming years. The work is high quality, interesting and varied. A real attraction is that there are clear opportunities to do more from the firm’s platform if there were more hours in the day! The firm acts for Landowners, Promoters, Developers and Intermediaries with most projects being for housebuilding on strategic land. The firm doesn't tend to act for housebuilders in order to avoid conflicts. Projects can be phased over decades creating a strong pipeline. The team works closely with other teams at the firm - planning, construction etc.
As an incoming partner you would probably have at least 11 years of experience, predominantly from a leading law firm, be a technically strong and commercial lawyer, and have good client/interpersonal skills. You will need to either be an existing partner or someone with the requisite skills who is looking to make the step up. You will need to either cover Strategic Land as a part of your practice or be a Development specialist with a desire to do more Strategic Land work.
This is not about "following" it is about the right person with the right focus. Ideally the successful candidate would bring a part desk of work with them but this isn't necessarily a prerequisite for the right person - this is somewhat dependant on the level of partner and financial expectations.
It is worth noting that, perhaps rather unusually these days, Partners at this firm have a real say in the direction and strategy of the practice and firm!
