Job summary

Intermediate Capital Group (ICG) is seeking an Associate in London to join the Real Estate Credit team. You will contribute to origination, diligence, execution and monitoring of Real Estate Debt investments across Europe, with a focus on French and/or German markets and cross-border sponsor relationships.

You will build financial models, analyse key risks, coordinate execution workstreams and support asset management of existing investments, while collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team in

Qualifications

• 2-3 years' experience in a role providing exposure to the real estate market via either investing or advising
• Working knowledge of real estate fundamentals and debt structures
• Fluency in English, with French and/or German language skills preferred for continental European transaction activity
• Demonstrable financial modelling skills and numerical fluency
• Ability to support transactions and interact effectively with sponsors, lenders and advisors
• Comfortable working across multiple European jurisdictions and interacting with local borrowers, sponsors, advisors and service providers

Responsibilities

• Deal screening and execution: Support in assessing new pipeline opportunities in the context of fund investment criteria and deal fundamentals
• Deal screening and execution: Undertake analysis to support investment decisions and assess key risks including reviewing third-party reports and technical due diligence
• Deal screening and execution: Build and maintain financial models to support underwriting, sensitivity analysis and investment recommendations
• Deal screening and execution: Collate market information and present to deal leads to assist with deal appraisals
• Deal screening and execution: Prepare papers for deal screenings and Investment Committee discussions with support of deal team
• Deal screening and execution: Support execution workstreams to tight deadlines, including co-ordination with internal stakeholders and external advisors
• Asset Management: Lead post-deal closing management, borrower reporting and agreed asset-level actions
• Asset Management: Maintain up-to-date models and cashflows that feed into fund-level outputs
• Asset Management: Monitor progress against business plans and key KPIs
• Asset Management: Support quarterly portfolio reviews
• Asset Management: Ensure data is managed and updated regularly
