West Monmouth School is a successful 11 – 16 school. We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, reliable and trustworthy Teaching Assistant to join our Ready2Learn team.

The key requirements of this role include:

• the ability to work well as part of a team, adopting a flexible approach as required
• to assist pupils in learning activities under an agreed system of supervision
• to assist in the supervision of the Ready2Learn (R2L) room which includes monitoring the achievement, attendance and behaviour of pupils assigned to the R2L room

Each post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.

Qualifications / Experience:

Essential:

• At least one year of working with children of secondary age.
• NVQ Level 3 in Numeracy & Literacy or equivalent education or suitable relevant experience.
• Experience of working in a learning environment/school.
• Ability to support vulnerable children.

Desirable:

• A qualification or accredited training relating to work with children commensurate with the post.
• Experience of working with pupils to support improving behaviour and social skills.
