Job summary

The De Montfort School (TDMS) is seeking a committed Literacy Intervention Specialist to deliver targeted, evidence-based phonics interventions and develop reading confidence. You will work with the Literacy Intervention Lead and report to the literacy co-ordinator to close attainment gaps and foster a love of reading.

Responsibilities

• Supporting learners in achieving their potential by ensuring they can read well and confidently.
• Deliver structured phonics-based interventions to identified students.
• Leading writing interventions and handwriting programmes.
• Working with students one-to-one and in small groups outside timetabled lessons.
• Building positive relationships with learners to enhance confidence and fulfil their potential.
• Supporting the day-to-day running of the school library.
• Providing administrative support for literacy programmes, including record keeping and data entry.
• Running daily extracurricular clubs to support literacy.
