Job description

Reading Hockey Club Men's 2nd XI Head Coach

Position: Head coach of Reading Men's 2nd XI

Responsibilities:

  1. Work with the Coaching Team and Team Manager of the Men’s 1st XI Squad to implement the vision and strategy for the Men’s Performance Squad, aligning with the Club’s overall vision. This includes strategy, tactics, playing principles, and talent development.
  2. Define and agree upon the operational principles for the Men’s 2s Squad to support the Talent Development strategy.
  3. Oversee all aspects of match play for the Men’s 2s Squad, including team selection and strategy, in competitions such as the South Central Premier Division, National Cup, and friendly matches.
  4. Provide ongoing feedback and development support to squad members throughout the season to enhance their performance.
  5. Collaborate proactively with the Coaching Team, Men’s 1s Squad Team Manager, Men’s Section Committee, coaches, and captains to offer feedback and support to players.
  6. Support and guide Men’s Section Coaches by cascading performance and development principles for club players where feasible.
