Job summary

Cards for Good Causes operates seasonal charity shops across the UK during the Christmas period, and we are looking for enthusiastic part-time Shop Managers for 2026. These roles involve leading volunteers, delivering excellent customer service, and promoting the shop within the local community to maximise charitable outcomes.

Temporary October–December 2026, part-time hours at £12.71 per hour. Flexible shifts available with potential for shared management across multiple shops.

Qualifications

• Experience in a customer-facing environment.
• Ability to work on their own initiative.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Ability to lead, motivate and support a team of volunteers.
• Clear communication and keeping everyone informed.
• Ability to build relationships with venue, fellow Shop Managers, volunteers and Regional Manager.
• Awareness of driving sales and promoting the shop locally.

Responsibilities

• Run the seasonal shop during the October–December period.
• Lead and support volunteers to deliver great customer service.
• Promote the shop within the local community and build partnerships with local organisations.
• Collaborate with the Regional Manager to ensure shop targets are met.
• Maintain shop standards and manage stock and merchandising.

Cards for Good Causes is the UK’s largest multi-charity Christmas retailer, selling cards and gifts on behalf of more than 200 UK charities and good causes.

In the last 10 years, Cards for Good Causes has given £19.4 million to charities and good causes.

Every Christmas, we open a network of seasonal shops across the UK, supported by our fantastic Shop Managers and volunteers. Our shops operate for a relatively short but very important trading period, and our teams play a key role in helping us raise as much money as possible for the charities and good causes we support.

We are now looking for enthusiastic and organised part-time Shop Managers to join our team for the 2026 Christmas season.

Our shops can be managed by more than one Shop Manager, making this a great seasonal opportunity for candidates looking for flexible part-time work.

• Has experience in a customer-facing environment
• Is confident working on their own initiative
• Has good organisational and time-management skills
• Can lead, motivate and support a team of volunteers
• Is a strong communicator who understands the importance of keeping everyone informed
• Can build positive working relationships with the venue, fellow Shop Managers, volunteers and Regional Manager
• Has good commercial awareness and can help drive sales
• Is enthusiastic about promoting the shop within the local community
• Is confident approaching local organisations and building relationships
• Can respond positively to the changing needs of a busy seasonal shop
• Shares our passion for supporting charities and good causes

Previous retail or charity experience would be an advantage, but just as important is having the right attitude, enthusiasm and ability to work with people.
