No prior experience is required, as comprehensive training is provided. The role includes a fitness test and successful applicants will gain opportunities to develop professionally within Sodexo Justice Services.

As a Prison Custody Officer, you'll play a vital role in the daily operation of the prison by:

Our recruitment process is designed to give you every opportunity to demonstrate the skills, behaviours and fitness required to become a Prison Custody Officer, while also giving you a realistic insight into life at HMP Addiewell.
You'll be invited to attend an in-person fitness assessment, which consists of two elements:
You'll be required to hold a 6kg shield for one minute.
To progress, you must achieve a minimum score of

Scenario-Based Exercises and Role Play –
Giving you the opportunity to demonstrate your judgement, communication, teamwork and decision-making through realistic prison-based scenarios.

An opportunity to discuss your experience, strengths and motivation for joining Sodexo.
