Job summary

Finlay Jude Associates Limited is seeking an Assistant Validation Technician to support underground water network leak detection within the North London area. The role emphasizes learning and developing leakage techniques with training provided.

Night shifts of 4×10 hours from Monday to Thursday will apply, offering hands-on exposure to hydraulic systems. No prior leakage experience is required, but eagerness to learn, strong communication, and team collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Willingness to learn new theories and working methods related to water networks.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills for internal and external colleagues.
• Ability to work rotating 4x10h night shifts and maintain attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and understand water network schematics and plans.
• Water network distribution and hydraulics understanding.
• Understand and carry out PZT/ZPT procedures.
• Perform flow testing on meters (flow rates 5, 10, 15).
• Conduct boundary valve investigations and proving.
• Carry out utility tracing tasks.
• Knowledge and experience of pressure/flow monitoring.

Job description

The Assistant Validation Technicians will be trained to find water leaks on the underground water networks within the North London Area.

This is a fantastic opportunity to get into the water Industry for the right candidate – Some leakage experience would be advantageous but an eagerness to learn would be paramount.

Working 4 x 10hr night shifts – Monday-Thursday

To gain knowledge/understanding of the following responsibilities:

• Interpret and understand water network schematics and plans
• Water Network and distribution, Hydraulics
• To understand and carryout PZT/ZPT
• Flow Testing Meters – 5,10,15 flow rates
• Boundary Valve investigations/proving
• Utility tracing
• Knowledge and experience of Pressure/Flow monitoring

Person specification

• To have the intellect and ability to quickly learn new theories, techniques and working methods associated with duties and tasks
• The ability to follow procedures and instructions
• Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills to enable effective communication with internal and external colleagues.
• Knowledge and experience of flow data capture techniques and methods
• Good organisational and time management skills
• Able to work well under pressure and to conflicting deadlines whilst maintaining attention to detail and high levels of standards
• Team player, flexible, co-operative attitude to working and giving and receiving help
