Medacs Healthcare is seeking a PIP Functional Assessor / Disability Assessor in Sunderland. This non-clinical role leverages your clinical expertise to assess how conditions affect daily living and to write detailed reports.

The hybrid model combines home work with time at assessment centres, offering structured hours and long-term stability. Open to NMC or HCPC registered nurses, paramedics, physiotherapists or occupational therapists with UK experience.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse (NMC) or HCPC registration with no restrictions.
  • Minimum 1 year's UK clinical experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confident use of digital systems with 35 WPM typing speed.
  • Right to work in the UK (sponsorship not available).
  • Experience in functional assessment or advisory roles.

Responsibilities

  • Face and telephone PIP assessments in a professional and empathetic manner.
  • Analyse medical evidence and clinical information.
  • Produce accurate, detailed and evidence-based written reports.
  • Work to defined quality standards and clinical frameworks.
  • Engage with feedback and development opportunities.

Are you an NMC‑

registered Nurse or HCPC‑

registered Paramedic, Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist ready for a change from frontline clinical work, but keen to continue using your expertise?

As a PIP Functional Assessor / Disability Assessor at Medacs Healthcare, you'll complete Personal Independence Payment (PIP) functional assessments to understand how health conditions affect everyday life. This is a non‑

on clinical role centred on clinical reasoning, analysis and report writing.

What you'll do
