Tesco is seeking a friendly Cafe Assistant to support our Back of House team across food preparation, kitchen cleanliness and quality control. You’ll help serve customers, keep surfaces clean and follow safety guidelines to ensure every meal meets our standards.

You’ll work as part of a team with flexible options and opportunities for career growth, with a strong focus on customer service and delivering a positive Tesco experience for every guest.

Responsibilities

• Keep kitchen equipment and utensils clean and tidy.
• Serve customers quickly, efficiently and with care.

• Practise first in, first out (FIFO) stock rotation to keep our food fresh.
• Accept deliveries and handle the safe storage of food.
• Be aware of (and follow) all operational policies and procedures.
• Prepare, cook, and serve food according to our cafés
• Making sure we maintain our standards and all food products are available.
• Know our café’s menu inside and out and serving food exactly as it’s intended.
• Resolve customer complaints and pass on information to the Café Manager.
• Stay up to date with business communications and exciting new initiatives.

You will be responsible for

Whilst specific responsibilities will be dependent upon the changing needs of Tesco as a business, the following provides an overview of the role’s key responsibilities and measures:
