Job summary

Anglian Learning is seeking casual exam invigilators to support internal and external examinations throughout the academic year. You will provide a reassuring presence to students and help ensure exams run smoothly.

Full training will be provided. No previous experience is required, but you should be able to communicate effectively, relate to staff and students, work under pressure, and adapt to varying schedules.

Qualifications

  • GCSE English/Maths at least Grade C or equivalent.

Further details about the role

We are looking to expand our team of Exam Invigilators who assist with both internal and external examinations throughout the academic year. We are looking for confident, flexible individuals with effective verbal and written communication skills, who will be able to offer a reassuring presence to students in exam rooms.

Duties include setting up the examination room, distributing and collecting scripts, supervising students during examinations, whilst working in accordance with set procedures at all times.

Full training will be provided. No experience is necessary, however invigilators should:

  • Have effective communication skills
  • Be able to relate to academic staff and students
  • Be able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Have a flexible approach to work
  • Have accuracy and attention to detail

These positions are on a casual, as and when required basis, throughout the academic year with the main exam season in May and June. However, we also have mock exams in November, February and April and invigilators are required for these as well. Hours worked will usually be between 8.30am and 4pm

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and vulnerable adults. We expect all staff to share this commitment and staff in regulated activity will be subject to an Enhanced DBS Check and a barred list check. Certificates of Good Conduct and other checks may be requested if applicable. Successful candidates will be required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure via the Disclosure Barring Service. This will include details of ALL cautions, reprimands or final warnings as well as convictions, whether “spent” or “unspent”. Criminal convictions will only be considered when they are relevant to the post.
