Job summary

The Cambian Group seeks a skilled Teacher to join Pengwern College in North Wales. You will deliver a person-centred curriculum for learners aged 16 to 25 with learning disabilities, providing high-quality teaching and assessment within a collaborative team.

Ideal candidates will hold Qualified Teacher Status and have experience with learners who have special educational needs, challenging behaviour, and a strong commitment to safeguarding and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Teach a person-centred curriculum to learners with learning disabilities and complex needs.
• Deliver high quality teaching, learning and assessment to underpin achievement for all learners.
• Experience of teaching learners with learning difficulties/disabilities and/or challenging behaviour is essential.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, person-centred lessons within a supportive team.
• Ensure safeguarding and student welfare are prioritised while raising achievement.

Pengwern College is looking to enhance the quality of Education to our Students and are looking for a talented and experienced Teacher to join the team!

Working alongside a supportive and collaborative team, you will be playing an important & rewarding part in providing education to our Students.

Cambian Pengwern College is an independent provider of specialist further education in North Wales, offering day, and up to 52-week residential placements for young people aged 16 to 25 with a learning disability and complex needs.

Our person-centred approach ensures that students have an individualised learning programme developed to effectively match their needs, personal decisions and aspirations, be the focus on daily living skills, vocational qualifications or independent living. We are proud that all of our students gain important life skills and achieve meaningful qualifications, evidencing our commitment to enabling increased choice and independence.

The ideal candidate will :

• Have experience of teaching a person-centred curriculum in new and innovative ways
• Have a recognised teaching qualification and experience.
• Experience of working with and teaching learners with learning difficulties/disabilities and/or challenging behaviour
• Able to deliver high quality teaching, learning and assessment to underpin high levels of achievement for all learners
• Exposure / Experience with ESTYN & CIW (preferred)
