Job summary

Starling Homecare is a family-owned homecare provider serving Welwyn Hatfield and Potters Bar. We seek kind, reliable care assistants to support clients in their own homes, with regular client visits and opportunities to grow within a supportive team.

You will start on £14.50/hour on weekdays, £15.00/hour weekends, and £16.00/hour after three months with around 40 hours/week. Bank holidays rise to £21, Christmas Days to £28, plus a £200 welcome bonus after 3 months. Zero-hours contract.

Qualifications

• No experience required.
• DBS check required.
• Shadow experienced carers before your first visit.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with daily tasks in their own homes.
• Encourage independence and safe daily living.
• Monitor well-being and report concerns to supervisor.
• Follow care plans and accompany clients on outings as needed.

Job description

Starling Homecare is a family owned, independently run homecare provider based in St Albans and registered with the CQC. We are looking for kind, reliable care assistants to support people in their own homes across Welwyn Hatfield and Potters Bar, including Hatfield, Welwyn Garden City, Welwyn, Brookmans Park, Welham Green, Cuffley and Potters Bar.

You will see the same clients regularly and help them with the things that let them stay at home: getting up and ready for the day, meals, medication prompts, keeping the house the way they like it, getting out and about, and company. You will notice when something is not right and say so.

Pay: £14.50 an hour on weekdays and £15.00 an hour at weekends, paid for every visit you work. After your first three months you can move to our Committed Availability Rate of £16.00 an hour, every hour, if you keep around 40 hours of availability a week at the times our clients need us most.

On top of your hourly rate:

• Rate uplift to £21.00 an hour on bank holidays
• Rate uplift to £28.00 an hour on Christmas Day and New Year's Day
• £200 welcome bonus after your first three months, on the terms set out in your offer letter

No experience is needed. We train you properly, at no cost to you, and you shadow experienced carers before your first visit on your own.
