Job summary

Young Devon is hiring a Youth Coach in supported accommodation in Plymouth. You will work on-site, guiding young people to secure their own solutions and safe homes with trauma-informed support.

Your role involves listening, building trust and helping them access employment, education and meaningful activities. The position is permanent and full-time, with shifts and a pro-active approach to safeguarding and safeguarding training.

Qualifications

  • Experience of working with young people
  • Experience in accommodation or safeguarding settings preferred
  • Ability to work in a trauma-informed way
  • Strong communication and active listening skills
  • Ability to build trust and engage with young people

shifts are 08.00 to 16.00 Tuesday/Wednesday & 14.00 to 22.00 on Monday/Thursday & Friday

Are you inspired by Young People and their communities? Do you want to help them find their own solutions with the support of quality Youth Work interventions in our new supported accommodation?

Breakwater Place is a new accommodation opportunity providing a safe home for young people to develop trusted relationships with trained and experienced Youth Coaches who are able to listen well and respond accordingly. Our supported accommodation is a place where services come together, with a person-centered focus, to respond to young people in the community in a place they love to call home.

You will have the skills to build relationships of trust and understanding, whilst responding to a young person’s needs through a trauma-informed lens. Supporting Young People to make decisions, ensure their home is a safe space and have their voice heard to build their own plan and engage successfully with employment, education and meaningful occupation opportunities.
