Job summary

Fife Council in North Queensferry is seeking a committed Pupil Support Assistant (2) to help improve life chances for children and young people, under the supervision of a Class Teacher. This is a part-time, on-site, temporary role.

You will support pupils individually or in groups, contribute to planning and review, supervise medication administration, and assist with therapy programmes and mobility support. The Disability Confident scheme is part of the employer ethos.

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils/children individually or in class or in small groups in identified areas of learning and personal development.
  • Contribute information to update planning and review process for individual pupils/children.
  • Supervise pupil/child self-administration of medication. You will offer a high level of personal care which will enable the pupil/child to function to their full potential e.g. toileting, administrating medication in line with agreed training procedures and encouraging self-help and independence.
  • Carry out support programmes designed by visiting specialists e.g. speech and language programmes, physiotherapy and/or occupational therapy programmes.
  • Support pupil/child mobility (as defined by moving and handling training) on an emergency/short-term basis and for low level needs e.g. to support toileting or short-term injury such as a broken leg.

You will be required to:
