Pure Staff Ltd in the Newport area is recruiting an HGV Class 1 Night Driver for ongoing work with a leading logistics client. This role involves trunking, general haulage and RDC deliveries across the UK, with modern fleet and a professional transport operation.

Shift pattern is Monday to Friday, nights 18:00–22:00, with average 8–12 hour shifts and occasional weekends. Requirements include a full UK C+E licence, CPC card and tachograph card, plus a reliable, independent work ethic.

Pure Staff are currently recruiting for a

HGV Class 1 Night Driver to work with one of our long-standing clients based in the

Newport area. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced

HGV Class 1 Night Driver looking for regular night work with a professional transport operation that values its drivers.

Our client is a well-established logistics and distribution business specialising in general haulage, contract logistics, warehousing and nationwide freight distribution. They operate a modern fleet and provide transport solutions for a wide range of retail, industrial and commercial customers throughout the UK.

Pay Rates

Monday to Friday PAYE:

• £17.50 per hour

Monday to Friday PAYE with Rolled-Up Holiday Pay:

• £19.61 per hour

Holiday Pay Options Available

Drivers can choose between:

• Standard PAYE with accrued holiday entitlement


• PAYE with rolled-up holiday pay included within the hourly rate

The Role

As a

HGV Class 1 Night Driver, you will be completing a mixture of general haulage, trunking and RDC deliveries across the UK.

Typical duties include:

• Completing deliveries and collections to RDCs, distribution hubs and customer depots


• Transporting palletised freight nationwide


• Carrying out vehicle checks before and after shifts


• Ensuring loads are secure and transported safely


• Accurately completing PODs and delivery paperwork


• Maintaining compliance with driver hours and WTD regulations


• Working safely and professionally at all times

Most loads are forklift loaded and unloaded, with minimal physical work required.

Shift Pattern

• Monday to Friday


• Night shifts

18:00 and 22:00

• Average shift length of

8-12 hours

• Optional weekend shifts available


• Ongoing work with regular bookings

Requirements

To be considered for this

HGV Class 1 Night Driver role, you will require:

• Full UK Category C+E Licence
