Job summary

Additional Resources Ltd is seeking an Electrician to join a well-established housing organisation. The role covers domestic and commercial properties, with testing, repairs and improvements across a wide area in South-East Wales.

You will work from drawings, source materials, and perform inspections to current regulations, including fire safety systems. A valid UK driving licence is required and AM2/18th Edition qualifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience carrying out electrical installations and repairs in domestic/commercial properties.
• Proven track record with inspection and testing to current regulations.
• AM2 certification or equivalent.
• 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations knowledge.
• City & Guilds 2391/2394/2395 or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical installations, rewiring, repairs and new circuit works.
• Inspect, test and certify electrical installations as required.
• Maintain fire alarms, emergency lighting and door entry systems.
• Read drawings and source materials for jobs.
• Record labour, materials and equipment used accurately.
• Drive and operate a works vehicle with safety checks.

Job description

Electrician to join a well-established housing organisation, providing property maintenance, repairs and improvement services across residential homes and community facilities.

As an

Electrician, you will becarrying out electrical installations, maintenance, testing and repairs while ensuring regulatory compliance and high standards of customer service. This is a mobile role covering the wider operational area

, offering salary of £39,420 and benefits.

You can be based anywhere across South-East Wales, with occasional visits to the Newport (Malpas) or Pontypool (Head Office) depots as required. The role covers Blaenau Gwent, Monmouthshire, Newport, Powys and Torfaen.

You will be responsible for:

• - Completing electrical installations, rewiring, repairs and new circuit works across domestic and commercial properties.
• - Working from drawings and specifications and sourcing the materials required for each job.
• - Carrying out electrical inspection, testing and certification, including installation and condition reports.
• - Testing and maintaining fire alarms, smoke alarms and emergency lighting systems.
• - Installing, maintaining and fault-finding heating controls and door entry systems.
• - Completing planned and cyclical testing in line with current regulations and maintaining accurate records.
• - Diagnosing faults and completing repairs safely, efficiently and within required timescales.
• - Driving an allocated works vehicle and completing daily vehicle safety checks.
• - Recording labour, materials and equipment used accurately.

What we are looking for:

• - Previously worked a s an Electrician or in a similar role.
• - Experience of inspecting and testing electrical installations, including condition and installation certification.
• - AM2 certification in Electrotechnical Occupational Competence or equivalent.
• - 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations.
• - City & Guilds 2391 or 2394/2395, or an equivalent Inspection and Testing qualification.
• - Completed apprenticeship in Installing Electrotechnical Systems and Equipment or equivalent.
• - Full UK driving licence.
