Job summary

Mott MacDonald Newport is seeking a Project Leader to manage water and wastewater design schemes within a joint venture with JN Bentley. The role requires coordinating civil, mechanical, electrical and process disciplines across outline and detailed design, construction, commissioning and handover.

You will mentor junior engineers, maintain programme alignment, and foster strong client relationships while delivering high-quality, safe and sustainable solutions across projects in Wales and beyond.

Qualifications

• Accredited degree in engineering is required.
• Experience across civil, mechanical, process and electrical disciplines is preferred.
• Incorporated Member of Engineering Institution is desirable.
• Outline and detailed design experience in water or wastewater projects.
• Knowledge of Designer/Principal Designer duties under CDM 2015 is required.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a project triangle with Site Manager and Quantity Surveyor to ensure technical, constructability and commercial aspects are considered.
• Lead the design of treatment or infrastructure projects from outline to detailed design, through construction, commissioning and handover.
• Coordinate the project team including civil, electrical, mechanical and process designers, BIM modelers and technical specialists to meet programme, budget and quality.
• Undertake design in own discipline and mentor less experienced colleagues where appropriate.
• Build positive relationships with clients’ project, operational and technical assurance teams and promote a one-team approach.
