Job summary

Bupa Cromwell Hospital in Solihull area is seeking a Part Time Healthcare Assistant to support the dermatology team with clinical and administrative tasks, ensuring safe patient care in a private clinical setting.

You will assist with procedures, upkeep of rooms, documentation, and patient flow while maintaining confidentiality and high standards of care.

Qualifications

  • Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care or equivalent is required.
  • Care Certificate completed.
  • Dermatology-specific training is preferred.
  • Safeguarding training (Adults/Children) completed or in progress.
  • Basic Life Support or willingness to undertake training.
  • Infection prevention and control training.
  • Previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant in a healthcare setting.
  • Familiarity with basic medical terminology.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office and electronic record systems.
  • Experience in dermatology, outpatient, or private clinical settings.
  • Experience assisting with minor surgical or aesthetic procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Support patients before, during, and after dermatology consultations and procedures.
  • Prepare treatment rooms, equipment, and sterile instruments.
  • Assist Dermatologist/Nurse with minor surgical procedures, biopsies, laser treatments and wound care.
  • Apply dressings and provide post-procedure care as directed.
  • Take and manage clinical photographs when required by Dermatologists.
  • Maintain patient dignity, comfort and confidentiality at all times.
  • Update and maintain electronic medical records within scope of practice.
  • Manage consent forms and clinical documentation as required.
  • Assist with appointment scheduling and patient flow.
  • Handle clinical correspondence and basic reporting using Microsoft Office.
  • Monitor and replenish clinical stock and supplies.
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with data protection regulations.

Key Skills / Qualifications
