  • Deliver structured, outcome-focused one-to-one support across home, education, community and YPR settings.
  • Understand each young person’s communication style, sensory needs, routines, strengths, triggers and individual support requirements.
  • Support young people with emotional regulation, transitions, boundaries, anxiety and behaviours such as aggression, refusal, absconding, impulsivity and emotional distress.
  • Use positive, proactive, least-restrictive and de-escalation approaches to reduce risk and promote safety.
  • Follow Behaviour Support Plans, Risk Assessments, Intervention Plans and agreed strategies consistently.

  • Work collaboratively with parents, carers, social workers, schools, healthcare professionals and other agencies involved in the young person’s support.
  • Maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality and a calm, consistent approach in challenging or unpredictable situations.
  • Take ownership of allocated cases and agreed actions while recognising when management support or further assessment is required.
  • Participate in supervision, training, team meetings and ongoing professional development.
  • Work flexibly according to the needs of young people, including some evenings and weekends.
