  • Assist with the medical and physical needs of children and young people, encouraging participation regardless of ability
  • Ensure healthcare needs are met, including making appointments, accompanying young people, and completing written reports following attendance
  • Support education staff with daily educational needs, providing a 24-hour learning environment with vocational activities and helping develop numeracy and literacy skills
  • Secure all buildings on leaving the site and provide cover in other areas as required
Planning, Safeguarding & Compliance:
  • Actively promote and participate in care planning, develop risk assessments, implement behaviour management strategies, and attend regular team meetings
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people, staying up to date with changes in safeguarding legislation and policy
  • Maintain detailed, accurate logs of all accidents, incidents, or physical interventions, and confidently challenge suspected inappropriate practice in line with policies and procedures

  • Undertake administrative tasks linked to the care of children and young people, including maintaining accurate records and reports for the Home and regulatory bodies
  • Ensure all records, files, and documentation are maintained to a high standard and are readily available for inspection purposes
  • Act as a positive role model and mentor to junior staff, promoting a culture of learning, reflection, and high-quality practice
  • Support the Registered Manager in embedding the home's policies, procedures, and statement of purpose into daily practice

  • Liaise professionally with other staff, external professionals, parents, and carers, representing the home with professionalism and integrity at all times
  • Help ensure the physical environment of the home remains safe, welcoming, and suitable for children and young people
  • Encourage children and young people to express their views and involve them in decisions that affect their lives, ensuring their voices are heard and acted upon
