Job summary

Roberts Mart & Co Ltd in Leeds is seeking a motivated Blown Film Extrusion Operator Number 3 to join our manufacturing team. You will operate and maintain high-capacity blown film extrusion equipment to produce high-quality plastic films and support packaging solutions.

You will ensure KPI targets are met, perform documentation to BRC/ISO standards, and contribute to health and safety, process improvement, and training activities with the Technical Manager and Supervisor.

Responsibilities

• To maintain the daily production activities to ensure that all KPI requirements are met to the highest standard.
• Maintain production checks and sample retention to ensure correct specification is met on all orders
• Documentation/paperwork filled in accurately to BRC/ISO requirements.
• Assist the Supervisor in implementing and monitoring the effectiveness of corrective actions in response to internal / external complaints.
• Encourage a continuous improvement culture by participating in improvement projects with the management teams.
• Workplace Safety: Ensure all employees understand and follow workplace safety protocols and procedures.
• Hazard Identification: Regularly identify and report potential hazards in the workplace to prevent accidents.
• Incident Reporting: reporting and documenting of accidents, injuries, and near-misses.
• Health and Hygiene: Maintain a clean and hygienic work environment to prevent illness and contamination.
• Skill Development: enhance your skills and knowledge relevant to your role.
• Soft Skills: communication, teamwork, and problem-solving to improve overall workplace efficiency.

In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining high-capacity blown film extrusion equipment to produce high-quality plastic films used across various industries. Your energetic approach and commitment to excellence will ensure smooth production processes, adherence to safety standards, and continuous improvement in product quality. Responsibilities

• To maintain the daily production activities to ensure that all KPI requirements are met to the highest standard.
• Maintain production checks and sample retention to ensure correct specification is met on all orders
• Documentation/paperwork filled in accurately to BRC/ISO requirements.

Health and Safety

• Ensure factory cleanliness and manage a ‘clean as you go’ standard
• Maintain high levels of product Quality
• Perform order changes
• Basic problem solving
• Trained to use Silo blower and resin drier.
• To assist in trialling and introduction of new film types with the Technical Manager and Supervisor.
• To participate in the training of the operators where appropriate.
• To provide flexibility in undertaking duties of a broadly similar nature that may be required from time to time.
• Ensure good shift to shift handovers

Process Improvement
