Job summary

Victim Support in Lancashire is seeking a dedicated Children & Young People Domestic Abuse Caseworker to support children and young people affected by domestic abuse. The role is 37.5 hours per week during term-time with hybrid working options.

You will complete risk and needs assessments, deliver interventions to promote wellbeing, work with families, schools, and partner agencies, and follow safeguarding policies. Travel across Lancashire and a driving license are expected.

About the Role

As a Children & Young People Domestic Abuse Casewoker you will:

• Completie risk and needs assessments to address the specific needs of the child or young person in line with VS operating procedures.
• Deliver one‑to‑one or group interventions (mostly face to face) that promote emotional wellbeing, resilience, and recovery.
• Work closely with families, schools, social care, and partner agencies to ensures that each young person's voice is heard and their needs are prioritised.
• Proactively promote the service, raising awareness of services & working collaboratively with professionals to improve the access to and quality of services for children & young people.
• Follow relevant safeguarding policies and procedures, working with safeguarding leads and other agencies to ensure an integrated approach to address any safeguarding concerns.

About you

We are looking for someone who is compassionate, motivated, and genuinely committed to supporting children and young people affected by domestic abuse. You will be organised and proactive, with the ability to remain calm, professional, and grounded when managing challenging or sensitive situations. Above all, you will be passionate about helping young people feel safe, heard and empowered.

You will need:

• Strong communication skills and confidence engaging with children and young people.
• Empathy and emotional resilience, with the ability to maintain professional boundaries.
• The ability to build trusting relationships with children, young people, and families.
• Good safeguarding and risk‑assessment skills.
• Experience supporting children and young people in a youth work, education, social care, or similar setting.
• An understanding of the impact of domestic abuse on children and young people.

This role involves regular travel across Lancashire, a driving license and access to a vehicle is considered an essential requirement.
