Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust's Sexual Health service at The Arch, Knowsley, is inviting enthusiastic Band 6 Sexual Health Nurses or those progressing through Annex 21 to join a busy, high-demand team. We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated Band 6 Sexual Health Nurses - or a committed candidates ready to progress through an Annex 21 development pathway - are invited to join our busy, high-demand sexual health service at The Arch, Knowsley. Two posts available : 37.5 hrs and 27.5 hrs . You will work within a supportive multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality clinical care, including assessment, treatment, health promotion and safeguarding support. Strong communication skills, sound clinical judgement and a proactive, patient-centred approach are essential. For Annex 21 applicants, a structured development programme will support you to build specialist competence and progress confidently to Band 6.

This role is to work in the axess clinic sites in Huyton, Kirkby and Halewood

Flexible working pattern will also include evenings and weekend

The successful applicant will be required to deliver patient care and manage all areas within the axess service, demonstrating professionalism, clinical expertise with excellent communication skills in all aspects of their work.

The work is varied and includes conducting consultations for both contraception and STI screening. Working from PGD to dispense both contraceptive and STI treatments, STI management and health advising & results management is also required as part of the role.. The provision of LARC methods including sub dermal implant insertion and removal.

As an autonomous practitioner undertake independent consultations with clients, including assessing, monitoring and evaluating individual client's contraceptive and sexual health needs including referral to other Health Professionals required.

Issue methods of contraception according to Patient Group Directions & clinical protocols

Provide STI screening and treatment according to Patient Group directions & clinical protocols. Encouraging partners attendance and treatment when necessary.

Provide advice and cytology screening as appropriate, according to local policies.

To take responsibility for the smooth running of the day to day management of the sexual health service.
