Job summary

Burstow Primary School is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to support children's learning and progress in a friendly, learning-focused environment.

You will prepare resources, assist the class teacher, and help with playground duties. The role offers a route into teaching, mentoring, and opportunities for development. Salary starts on the SPS scale 3 (FTE £24,330) and is a full-time, term-time role.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or equivalent, GCSEs English and Maths at Grade C or above.
• Ability to read and write fluently and communicate effectively.
• Self-confidence, maturity and a professional, respectful attitude.
• Experience with SEN is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Supporting and leading children’s learning and progress.
• Preparing resources for lessons and activities.
• Assisting the class teacher with daily tasks.
• Undertaking playground duties as required.

What we are looking for:

Education level of at least NVQ Level 2GCSE grades of at least ‘C’ in English and MathsThe ability to read and write fluently and be confident in MathsSelf-confidence, common sense and maturityA good sense of humour and effective communication skillsAdaptability and enthusiasmSEN experience (desirable but not essential)
