Job summary

Hunter Selection Limited in Hoddesdon is seeking a multi-skilled maintenance engineer to join a growing, secure operation within a multi-billion-pound global manufacturer. You will perform reactive maintenance on production machinery and site services, while following PPM schedules and driving improvements.

The role requires both electrical and mechanical capabilities, with experience in hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes and preventative maintenance in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Ideally a multi-skilled maintenance engineer in a manufacturing setting.
• Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, gears and belts is desirable.
• Electrical bias with PLC fault finding and control panel wiring is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Carry out reactive maintenance and repairs of production machinery and site services.
• Deal with hydraulics, pneumatics, compressors, bearings, shafts and gearboxes.
• Follow PPM schedules and participate in continuous improvement projects.
• Electrical tasks including PLC fault finding, wiring control panels, sensors and switches.
• Mechanical tasks including fabrication, welding, machining (milling/turning) as required.

Job description

Would you like to work for a growing local business that has the job security of being part of a multi-billion-pound global industrial manufacturer. Due to gaining more customers and future growth plans, they are looking for a multi-skilled maintenance engineer to join their team.

Role & responsibilities of a maintenance engineer:

• Carry out reactive maintenance & repairs of all production machinery, industrial processing equipment, site services & utilities
• Dealing with hydraulics, pneumatics, compressors, bearings, shafts, gearboxes, rollers, belts, drives
• Follow PPM schedules, continuous improvement projects
• Electrical - PLC fault finding, repair & wiring control panels, switches, sensors, contactors
• Mechanical - fabrication, fitting, welding, manual machining to make parts/repairs

Knowledge, skills & experience need to be a maintenance engineer:

• Ideally be a multi-skilled maintenance engineer
• Qualified - NVQ or City & Guilds Level 3 or higher in engineering
• Must have worked in some form of manufacturing environment
• Team player and positive character
• Worked on hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, bearings, shafts, drives
• Electrical biased skills - PLC fault finding, wiring / repairs control panels, sensors, switches
• Mechanical biased skills - fabrication, fitting, welding, machining - milling, turning, grinding, lathes
