Job summary

IPS Group Limited in the Greater Manchester area seeks a Solicitor to join its Regulatory team as Associate or Senior Associate, advising on regulatory and enforcement matters across professional discipline, investigations and appeals.

You will manage your own caseload across disciplinary proceedings, CQC/Ofsted enforcement, regulatory defence and related hearings while benefiting from a supportive team and clear career progression within a leading UK firm.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Solicitor with a current practising certificate.
  • Experience in regulatory law, or a background in criminal or commercial law with an interest in regulatory practice.
  • Strong analytical, drafting and organisational skills.
  • Knowledge of regulatory, criminal or enforcement procedures relevant to experience level.
  • Understanding of professional conduct obligations.
  • Strong IT skills and confidence in learning new systems.
  • Proactive, flexible and professional approach.

Responsibilities

  • Managing a varied caseload across the team's core practice areas.
  • Providing pragmatic and commercially focused legal advice.
  • Drafting legal documents, correspondence and client advice.
  • Preparing cases for hearings, including liaising with Counsel.
  • Attending hearings, conferences, client meetings and interviews under caution.
  • Ensuring compliance with procedural requirements, SRA regulations and internal processes.
  • Conducting risk assessments and maintaining accurate case records.
  • Managing work in progress, billing and financial performance of matters.
  • Delegating work effectively where appropriate.
  • Identifying cross-selling opportunities across the firm.
  • Delivering exceptional client care and maintaining high professional standards.

The Role
