Job summary

Bupa Health Services is seeking a Clinical Counselling Psychologist for Mindplace Newcastle Clinic to support our customers with education on living healthier, happier lives. You’ll spend most of your time engaging with clients and delivering evidence-based care within a clinic that operates seven days a week.

You will provide assessments, diverse service delivery, and supervision, while adhering to professional guidelines and corporate policies. A Doctorate and HCPC registration are required.

Qualifications

• Professional doctorate in Clinical/Counselling Psychology.
• HCPC registration as Chartered Clinical/Counselling Psychologist.
• General adult mental health and post-qualification experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality therapeutic care with excellent clinical outcomes.
• Deliver comprehensive assessments and formulations for evidence-based intervention.
• Offer face-to-face, telephone, or video consultations.
• Adhere to Bupa's case management processes and collaborate with the team.
• Work within sessional limits based on Private Medical Insurance.
• Provide signposting or onward referrals as needed.
• Offer ad-hoc wellbeing support and coaching.
• Conduct one-off assessments and referral recommendations.
• Provide group psychoeducation and mental health awareness through remote sessions.
• Work autonomously within professional guidelines and policies.
• Attend regular clinical supervision and monthly team meetings.
• Collaborate with the operational and clinical team to improve experiences.

Clinical / Counselling Psychologist - Mindplace Newcastle

Location: Metrocentre, Gateshead, NE11 9YG

This clinic operates 7 days a week, with planned opening hours of 8am-10pm.

As part of the rota, you will be required to complete one morning shift and one evening shift each week. While we welcome all availability, we would particularly like to know if Fridays work for you.

Your Role:

As a Clinical Counselling Psychologist within Bupa Health Services, you'll use your training and education to support our customers by providing education on how to live longer, healthier, happier lives. You'll spend the majority of your time with our customers, doing what you do best.

Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality therapeutic care with excellent clinical outcomes.
• Deliver comprehensive assessments and formulations for evidence-based intervention.
• Offer different models of service delivery: face-to-face, telephone, or video consultations.
• Adhere to Bupa's case management processes and collaborate with Clinical Leads and the therapy team.
• Work within sessional limits based on the client's Private Medical Insurance allowance.
• Provide signposting or onward referrals as needed.
• Offer ad-hoc wellbeing support and coaching.
• Conduct one-off assessments and referral recommendations.
• Provide group psychoeducation and mental health awareness through remote presentations, workshops, and training.
• Work autonomously within professional guidelines and Bupa's service policies.
• Attend regular clinical supervision and monthly team meetings.
• Collaborate with the operational and clinical team to improve client and employee experiences.

Key Skills / Qualifications:

• Professional doctorate in Clinical/Counselling Psychology accredited by the British Psychological Society.
• Health and Care Professions Council registration as a Chartered Clinical/Counselling Psychologist.
• General adult mental health experience.
• At least 1 year's post-qualification clinical experience.
• Training and accreditation in specialized areas of psychological relevance.
• Excellent leadership and management skills.

• Proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Systems and electronic medical record systems.
