Job summary

The role involves day-to-day grounds maintenance tasks in Ely, including mowing, strimming, hedge cutting, litter picking and machine checks. You will clean equipment, carry out dynamic risk assessments and coordinate repairs.

In winter, duties include rota work with litter picking, shrub pruning, rotavating and replanting, plus ad hoc garden clearances and bulk removal of fly tipping.

Responsibilities

• Mowing, strimming, hedge cutting and litter picking as core duties.
• Carry out machine checks and cleaning of equipment.
• Perform dynamic risk assessments and arrange repairs for machines.
• Load and unload vans and assist with garden clearances.
• Winter rota includes litter picking, shrub pruning, rotavating and occasional replanting.
• Ad hoc duties such as bulk removal of fly tipping and general disposal.

Job description

Day to day will include - mowing, strimming, hedge cutting, litter picking and carrying out machine checks, cleaning of machines, dynamic risk assessments, taking machines in for repair, loading and unloading vans. During the winter, rota works continue with litter picking and pruning of shrubs, rotavating and sometimes replanting. The role will also be expected to carry out some adhoc works such as bulk removal of fly tipping and disposal and garden clearances.
