Job summary

Randstad Education in the Southampton area is seeking enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to support secondary schools across Hampshire. If you are a recent graduate or aspiring teacher, this role offers hands-on classroom experience during teacher absences.

You'll supervise Key Stages 3 and 4, deliver prepared work, maintain a positive learning environment, and gain confidence for PGCE/SCITT applications. DBS enhanced is required or in progress.

Qualifications

• Degree level or higher education qualification; recent graduates encouraged to apply.
• Experience tutoring, mentoring, or working with young people is valued.
• Strong communication, confidence, resilience and a proactive attitude are essential.
• Enhanced DBS with Update Service (or willingness to apply) is required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise secondary school students (Key Stages 3 & 4) across various subjects during teacher absences.
• Maintain a positive, orderly, and productive classroom environment where students feel supported.
• Deliver prepared work set by the department and ensure students stay on task.
• Collect completed work and provide constructive feedback on student progress and behaviour.
• Uphold school policies regarding behaviour management and safeguarding at all times.
