Job summary

Manpower UK in East Grinstead is seeking a production laboratory operator to join the team producing Sensititre antimicrobic susceptibility plates. You'll work in the production laboratory and aseptic dispensing room, ensuring high-quality output and strict compliance with SOPs, GLP and GMP standards.

• Ideally educated to A-level standard in a scientific subject.
• Capable of following standard operating procedures and H&S guidelines.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• Able to organize and prioritise tasks under own initiative.
• Attention to detail when following procedures and keeping manual records.
• Ability to perform complex manual tasks with dexterity.
• Computer literacy would be beneficial.
• Laboratory experience is an advantage.
• Exposure to a fast-paced high throughput manufacturing environment would be valuable.
• Quality minded person.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of antimicrobic solutions in line with SOPs and production paperwork.
• Set-up and monitoring of production dispensing pumps for on-time output.
• Manufacture of ancillary solutions such as ID media, buffers and excipients.
• Compliance checks of laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
• Maintain and monitor raw material stock levels (consumables, intermediates, equipment).
• Support the laboratory by washing and autoclaving equipment.
• Utilise SAP ERP, Microsoft Office and bespoke programs to process information.
• Further duties as required by the business.

Location: East Grinstead - The Birches Unit 19

Shifts: This role works a 3-week daytime rota, including 1 weekend in every 3 weeks. You'll work an average of 38 hours per week between 6:30am and 6:30pm.

Week 1: Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat, Sun

Week 2: Mon, Wed, Thu, Fri

Week 3: Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri

You will work within the production laboratory and asceptic dispensing room to produce SensititreTM antimicrobic susceptibility plates. You will ensure H&S and quality standards are always met. You will always work to ensure compliance with GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice); and ensure our SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) are followed.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of antimicrobic solutions in accordance with relevant SOPs and in line with production paperwork - weighing, dissolution and dilution
• Set-up and monitoring of production dispensing pumps, to enable on time and quality production output - pouring, priming and weight checks
• Manufacture of various necessary ancillary solutions - ID media, buffers and excipients
• Compliance checks of laboratory equipment and instrumentation - pipettes, balances and extractors
• Maintain and monitor raw material stock levels - consumables, intermediates and equipment
• Support the laboratory by washing and autoclaving equipment - pumps, glassware and other items
• Utilise computer software to process information - SAP ERP, Microsoft Office and bespoke programs
• Further duties and responsibilities as required by the business and within the ability of the post holder.
