Chesterfield Borough Council is seeking stage crew members to support the cultural services team across our venues. This part-time role involves assisting with loading, scenery, rigging, and backstage operations to ensure smooth performances and events.

You will help set up lighting and sound, move scenery during shows and maintain equipment safety. The role requires stamina, willingness to work evenings and weekends, and good teamwork in a busy live-events environment.

Qualifications

  • Basic IT skills, especially Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

Appointment type: Part time (Monday to Sunday)

Hours: 104 annualised hours (Average 2 hours per week)

Location: 1435 Theatre and Museum, and Winding Wheel Theatre

Department: Cultural Services

Chesterfield Borough Council is looking for dedicated and enthusiastic stage crew members to join our cultural services team. This is your chance to play a vital role in bringing performances and events to life across our vibrant council venues.

What you'll do

As a stage crew Member, you’ll help ensure the smooth delivery of performances and events by supporting the technical team and contributing to backstage operations.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • assisting with loading/unloading, scenery construction, and stage rigging
  • supporting the setup and operation of lighting and sound systems
  • acting as show crew during performances – moving scenery, operating flying equipment or follow spots
  • ensuring a high standard of cleanliness and housekeeping in all technical areas
  • working safely at height and maintaining equipment
  • assisting with caretaking duties and equipment security post-event
