Job summary

HCRG Care Group is seeking a Bank Speech & Language Therapist to join the preschool team in Redhill. You will assess, diagnose and deliver evidence-based SLT interventions for children with speech, language, and communication needs.

The role offers flexible shift booking, Wagestream access to earned wages, and opportunities for professional growth across Surrey 0-19 services. Hybrid working is available with an office base in Surrey.

Qualifications

• Recognised Speech and Language Therapy degree or equivalent (HCPC registered).
• Postgraduate Diploma or MSc in SLT leading to HCPC registration.
• Active HCPC membership or eligibility is expected.

As aBand 5 Speech & Language Therapist within the preschool team, you will assess, diagnose, and deliver evidence-based interventions to children with speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN).

You will play a vital role in empowering parents, carers, and professionals through training, support, and collaborative working .

Your work will primarily focus on children within early years settings such as nurseries, Family Hubs, and family homes.

Base

Our Children's Community Health Team provision supports our Surrey-wide service, and you will be based at one of our Office Hubs across Surrey with the opportunity for hybrid working.

Main Responsibilities

• Carrying out high-quality School Based assessments, as part of a Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) for children and young people
• Deliver high-quality SLT assessments and interventions to preschool-aged children.
• Collaborate with parents, carers, and the wider children's workforce to create tailored care plans.
• Provide reports, including for Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).
• Support service development and key performance targets.
• Supervise and guide SLT assistants and students.
• Plan and deliver training for carers and professionals to enhance understanding of SLCN.
• Participate in multi-agency meetings and safeguarding case conferences as required.

The Ideal Candidate

• Recognised Speech and Language Therapy degree or equivalent (Post Graduate Diploma or MSc in Speech and Language Therapy leading to registration with HCPC)
• Knowledge/training in ASD strategies and interventions e.g. PECS, SCERTS, ADOS
• Health and Care Professions Council Licence to Practice (HCPC)
• Member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists
• Member of relevant Clinical Excellence Network
• Specialist knowledge of assessments and interventions for client group
• Knowledge of national and local policies and procedures relevant to client group and role.
• Awareness of policies and procedures relating to Child Protection
• Experience of managing own caseload and to work effectively with a range of client groups
• Knowledge / training in educational training packages e.g. ELKLAN, WellComm
• Demonstrable experience of working in the NHS
