The Spire Church of England Learning Trust is seeking a highly organised Trust Finance Manager to join our central finance team in Catshill, Worcestershire. You will coordinate key financial processes across the Trust, including payroll assurance, procurement, SLAs, and financial reporting learning to support school leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality financial support to schools across the Trust.
  • Lead the administration and monitoring of Trust-wide Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and support value-for-money.
  • Support and coordinate payroll assurance processes, working with the Trust Business Manager and payroll provider.
  • Act as a key point of contact for finance-related queries across the Trust.
  • Support development and implementation of effective financial systems, controls and procedures.
  • Assist with monthly management accounts and financial reporting.
  • Process BACS payments, bank reconciliations and VAT returns.
  • Manage credit cards and School Fund Accounts.
  • Assist with budget monitoring and financial forecasting.
  • Support internal and external audit requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with Academy Trust Handbook and Trust financial procedures.

Trust Finance Manager

35 hours per week (Term time only plus 10 days) The additional 10 working days are to be worked flexibly throughout the year in line with the needs of the Trust and will be agreed in advance with the Chief Finance Officer. These days will be during school holiday closures, particularly the October half-term, to support key financial processes and reporting requirements

The Spire Church of England Learning Trust is seeking to appoint a highly organised, proactive and detail-focused Trust Finance Manager to join our central finance team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced finance professional to play a key role in supporting the financial operations of our growing Multi-Academy Trust. Working closely with the Chief Finance Officer, Headteachers and School Leaders, the successful candidate will take responsibility for coordinating and managing key financial processes across the Trust, including payroll assurance, procurement, service level agreements, financial controls, compliance and reporting. As a growing Trust, there may be opportunities for the successful candidate to develop their role, subject to organisational need.

The successful candidate will:
  • Provide high-quality financial support to schools across the Trust
  • Lead the administration and monitoring of Trust-wide Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and support the achievement of best value for money.
  • Support and coordinate the Trust's payroll assurance processes, working closely with the Trust Business Manager and payroll provider

  • Build effective working relationships with School Leaders and colleagues across the Trust
