Job summary

Hertfordshire Catering Ltd (HCL) is seeking a Catering Assistant for Foxton School with transporting duties. The role is 12.5 hours per week, term-time only, with uniform provided and opportunities for progression.

You will support food prep, service to pupils, and safe transport of meals between sites using an HCL van. Ideal candidates will have safeguarding commitment, basic health and safety understanding, and a valid UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Safeguarding children and young people commitment.
• Food hygiene level 2 certification preferred.
• Basic understanding of health and safety procedures.
• Knowledge of key allergens preferred.
• Demonstrates punctuality and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation, cooking and serve meals to children.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times.
• Receive, check and organise supplier deliveries.
• Carry out washing-up duties; maintain a clean, hygienic kitchen and dining area.
• Represent HCL and reflect company values in daily work.
• Transport meals between sites using the HCL van.

• Assist with food preparation, cooking and serve meals to children
• Adhering with Health & Safety regulations
• Receiving, checking, and organising supplier deliveries
• Carry out washing-up duties, maintain a clean hygienic kitchen and dining area
• Representing HCL and reflecting our values in everything you do
• Transporting meals from one site to another using HCL van
