Job summary

Co-op Group is hiring Customer Team Members for our local Co-op store. This part-time role involves a mix of opening, middle, and closing shifts, with at least two closing shifts and one weekend shift. You’ll receive full paid training and be aged 18 or over due to early/late hours.

You’ll work as part of a friendly team delivering essential services to the community, possibly in our post office or bakery, and help with online orders and home delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service is beneficial but not required.
• Ability to work flexibly across a number of shifts including weekends and early mornings.
• Comfort working in a busy store and bakery environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver friendly, helpful service on the shop floor and tills.
• Work with the team to keep the store running smoothly.
• Assist in-store bakery, order picking, and general daily operations.
• Keep shelves stocked, check prices, dates and stock accuracy.
• Ensure compliance with store safety and legal requirements.
• Promote Co-op Membership and community involvement.

Job description

Contract: 12 hours per week + regular overtime, permanent contract, part time

Working pattern: A mix of opening shifts, middle shifts, and closing shifts. At least 2 shifts will be closing and at least 1 will be at the weekend. We're happy to discuss your availability further at interview. Role will include working in our in-store bakery

As a Customer Team Member

As a Customer Team Member, you'll work as part of a friendly team in a fast-moving Co-op store, helping deliver essential services to your community every day. Depending on your store, this could involve working in our post office, or bakery, or helping with online services by picking and packing orders for home delivery. Whatever the day brings, you'll play a key role in making life easier for our customers.

What you'll do

• Support the day-to-day running of the store by delivering friendly and thoughtful service, helping to put things right when needed
• Work with your team to keep the store running smoothly
• Work hands-on on the shop floor and tills, and in our in-store bakery, and contribute to daily operations to create a great shopping experience
• Help maintain store performance by keeping shelves stocked and checking prices, dates, and stock accuracy
• Make sure the store safe and legal - keep the shelves stocked and make sure prices, dates, and temperatures are all as they should be
• Promote Co-op Membership and support your local community
