Job summary

ParalloyGroup is seeking Foundry Operatives to join a new 3-shift pattern and manufacture centrifugally cast products. The role includes pouring molten metal into spinning dies, setting up moulds, and performing mould/tube handling with safety as a priority.

We offer permanent full-time work, 38 hours per week, and full training to get you started in a busy foundry environment focused on quality and precision.

Qualifications

  • Previous manufacturing and factory experience.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures.
  • Adaptable and flexible attitude to work.
  • Good communication skills – both written and verbal.
  • Health & safety, environmental awareness and quality rules.

Responsibilities

  • Pour molten metal into spinning dies.
  • Monitor mould and molten metal temperatures as directed.
  • Complete manufacture of castings and removal from dies with hand tools.
  • Prepare refractory materials for use in manufacturing.
  • Set up moulds, cups and ladles for tube manufacture.
  • Brush and spray production moulds.
  • Grind moulds/tubes as directed.
  • Stamp tubes to maintain traceability.
  • Take test samples as directed.
  • Lift and sling moulds, tubes and containers with cranes.
  • Maintain 5S housekeeping and operator PPMs.
  • Work safely in line with safety standards and procedures.

About The Role

Due to growing demand we are looking for a number Foundry Operatives to work on a new 3 shift pattern and responsible to manufacture centrifugally cast products.

What we offer

Principle Accountabilities:
  • Pour molten metal into spinning dies.
  • Monitor temperatures of moulds / molten steel as directed by chargehand.
  • Complete manufacture of castings & removal from a die using hand tools, manual handling techniques.
  • Prepare refractory materials for use in manufacturing.
  • Set up moulds, cups and ladles as directed by charge hand to begin tube manufacture.
  • Brush out and spray up production moulds.
  • Grinding of moulds / tubes as directed.
  • Stamping tubes to maintain traceability.
  • Take test samples as directed by charge hand.
  • Lift & sling moulds, tubes, and containers with use of cranes.
  • General 5S housekeeping / Operator PPM.
  • Work safely throughout all activities in line with Paralloy’s safety standards and procedures.
The successful candidate will have the following skills/experience:
  • Previous manufacturing and factory experience
  • The ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures
  • An adaptable and flexible attitude to work
  • Good communication skills – both written and verbal
  • A good understanding of health & safety, environmental issues and quality rules
  • Experience of working as part of a team
  • Pendant Crane, Lifting & Slinging experience would be advantageous
  • Foundry experience would be advantageous
