Job summary

Harris Academy Billericay is looking to appoint a dedicated and resourceful Graduate Tutor in English. The actual salary for this role is £22,122.32–£22,463.67 for 37.5 hours per week, 38 weeks per year.

Your responsibilities will include delivering programmes of study to small groups or 1:1, liaising with parents regarding attendance, progress and attitude, and maintaining records of students' progress toward targets. You will assist the teacher in planning and evaluating learning objectives.

• Relevant qualifications at A Level and undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in English.

Responsibilities

Main Areas of ResponsibilityYour responsibilities will include:

Delivering programmes of study to small groups of students in 1:1 setting

Ensuring students are given every opportunity to meet their examination and/or Liaising with parents regarding the attendance, progress and attitude of designated students

Maintaining records of students' progress in relation to their examination targets

Completing relevant marking and providing feedback

Within a whole class setting, highlighting individual students' learning needs to the teacher and agreeing how they will be supported

Assisting the teacher in evaluating identified students' progress through agreed assessment activities

Supporting identified students to engage with the learning objectives set for the lesson

Planning with teachers the role they will take in the lesson, preparing resources that meet the students' needs and interests
