Job summary

Avery Healthcare is seeking a warm, enthusiastic Chef de Partie for Beaconsfield Heights Care Home. You will support the Head Chef and Sous Chef to lead a culinary team providing nutritionally balanced meals for residents, with a focus on high-quality service and care.

You will participate in resident meetings, plan menus, manage stock to reduce waste, and ensure cost-effective operations. DBS check is required and Avery covers the check cost.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of catering experience.
• City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or NVQ or equivalent.
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate required.

Responsibilities

• Participate in meetings with residents and Heads of Departments to discuss catering functions and special dietary needs.
• Prepare nutritionally balanced food and beverages to a high standard.
• Support cost-effective stock control to minimise waste and ensure systems are in place.
• Work with Head and Sous Chef to develop and review the menu regularly.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your focus as Chef de Partie will be to support the Head Chef and Sous Chef to lead a culinary team that provides a nutritionally balanced, comprehensive and high-quality culinary service, which contributes to the overall wellbeing of the residents.

Other responsibilities will include:

• Taking part in meetings with residents and Heads of Departments to discuss and agree catering functions across the home, and to address special needs or dietary requirements of residents.
• Preparing nutritional food and beverages to a high standard, as directed by the Head Chef.
• Supporting cost-effective stock control systems to minimise waste and ensure these are in place.
• Working with the Head Chef and Sous Chef to develop and review the menu on a regular basis.
