Job summary

Chestnut Tree House is seeking a qualified Family Counsellor to join the Child and Family Team, providing specialist emotional support and counselling/psychotherapy to families across our hospice catchment. You will also facilitate staff training and support group activities for families and children, and travel frequently within the catchment area; a UK driving licence and own transport are essential.

Accredited with BACP, UKCP or BPS, the post requires extensive post-qualification bereavement

Qualifications

• Qualified Counsellor/ Psychotherapist accredited with BACP, UKCP or BPS.
• Extensive post qualifying experience including bereavement work.
• Extensive experience of working within a community setting.
• Experience of working with adults and children.
• Experience of working in a palliative care or health care setting (desirable).
• Ability to work flexibly and independently.
• A valid UK driving licence and the ability to travel frequently throughout the working day across the catchment area for the hospice.

Job description

You will also facilitate training and support for staff, and group activities for families and children/young people as required.

Due to the remote location and lack of public transport, access to your own transport is essential.
