Job description

We are looking for an experienced React / Typescript front-end developer to help build a shared library of UI components. The role will work closely with product and design groups to deliver a common shared set of user interfaces which will empower application development teams with important functionality for Securities Services applications.

As a React Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase, your role will be pivotal in driving consistency, efficiency, and developer experience. You will be involved in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle, from analysis and design to development and testing, and ultimately delivering an amazing user experience. Your responsibilities will include prototyping and iterating solutions with designers, development and ownership of a shared component library, accessibility engineering, and delivering complex UIs with an attention to both performance and aesthetic detail.

Job responsibilities:

  1. Develop a core React and Typescript component library using modern continuous integration standards and patterns.
  2. Collaboratively architect and build custom UI components to support various business workflows.
  3. Leverage strong operational skills to develop impactful recommendations on upstream product, process, or policy improvements that will optimize the user experience.
  4. Work closely with the Product and Design team to design, build and deliver capabilities in agile sprints.
  5. Work with consuming teams to help refine any developer experience issues.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:

  1. Extensive expertise in front-end development with a strong focus on React, demonstrating proficiency in building dynamic and responsive user interfaces.
  2. Deep expertise in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Typescript, and state management.
  3. Proficiency in one or more programming languages.
  4. Experience with automation and continuous delivery methods.
  5. Experience working in a large corporate environment developing, debugging, and maintaining code.
  6. Hands-on experience with React concepts such as functional components, hooks, state management, and context API, along with popular React libraries and tools like React Router, React Query, React Hook Forms, and Ag Grid React.
  7. Proficiency in using the CLI, git workflow, and CI/CD pipelines.
  8. Familiarity and experience with Jest and React Testing Library.
  9. Ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.
