Description
We’re looking for an experienced React Native developer to help shape and improve our mobile apps at Clearooms — a smart, scalable SaaS platform for managing meeting rooms and desk bookings.
You’ll join a small, collaborative dev team and work closely with our CTO (that’s who you’ll report to) to rebuild, enhance and expand our mobile offering. We currently have two apps in production — one for end users to book desks and meeting rooms, and another designed to run on tablets outside meeting rooms to display availability and enable walk-in bookings. We’ve got more app ideas in the pipeline, so there’s plenty to get stuck into.
Our apps are functional and actively used, but there’s lots of room for improvement — both in UX and code structure. We’re after someone who can bring solid experience, contribute ideas, and help guide technical direction for mobile, without needing hand-holding.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain our mobile apps using React Native with Expo
- Collaborate with designers and backend developers to implement new features
- Ensure apps are optimised for performance and provide a smooth, intuitive user experience
- Troubleshoot and debug issues to improve app stability and reliability
- Manage app releases, including OTA updates and App Store/Play Store submissions
- Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in mobile development
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code
- Contribute to architectural discussions and decisions around our mobile stack
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Solid commercial experience building and shipping React Native (Expo) apps
- Strong understanding of mobile architecture, performance, and UX
- Comfortable working with REST APIs and handling authentication, error states, and edge cases
- Experience with internationalisation and localisation (multi-language support)
- Confident managing OTA updates and understanding the release cycle on both iOS and Android
- A proactive and collaborative mindset — you enjoy working closely with others and contributing ideas
- Experience with state management libraries (e.g., Redux, Zustand).
- Ability to write well-structured, reusable code.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Previous experience working in a remote team is a plus.
- Fully remote role.
- A chance to have a real impact on products used daily in modern workplaces
- Opportunity to work in a dynamic and growing company.
- Competitive salary based on experience.
- Ongoing learning and development opportunities.
- Supportive and collaborative remote work culture.
- Reporting directly to the CTO
