Whitehall Resources is currently looking for a React Native Developer based in Coventry, working 3 days a week onsite and 2 days remote, for an initial 6-month contract.

Your responsibilities:

1. Mobile App Development: Develop, optimize, and maintain React Native apps to deliver high-quality, high-performance, scalable mobile experiences.
2. Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Monitor and troubleshoot production mobile applications to ensure performance, reliability, and responsiveness.
3. Team Collaboration: Foster an inclusive team environment, encouraging knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
4. Stay Updated: Keep abreast of the latest trends and technologies in mobile development and recommend improvements.
5. Code Optimization & Best Practices: Write and optimize JavaScript/TypeScript code, ensuring quality, maintainability, and scalability using best practices and design patterns.
6. Cross-Platform Development: Develop applications for both iOS and Android platforms, ensuring consistent functionality and user experience.
7. Collaboration: Work with UX/UI designers, product managers, and backend developers to deliver cohesive solutions.
8. Stakeholder Engagement: Understand requirements from business stakeholders and translate them into technical solutions.
9. Quality Assurance: Implement testing processes to ensure robust and reliable applications.
10. Cloud & Infrastructure Support: Integrate backend services and APIs with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.
11. Continuous Improvement: Improve development processes, tools, and workflows for efficiency and scalability.

Key Skills:

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions)
• Proficiency in JSX and component design
• Experience with cloud services like AWS/Azure
• GitHub version control skills
• Effective communication and collaboration skills
• Cross-platform development expertise
• Problem-solving and analytical thinking
• Deep knowledge of JavaScript and TypeScript, including ES6+
• Experience with third-party dependencies and debugging
• Familiarity with native build tools (Xcode, Gradle, Android Studio, Visual Studio Code)
• Proficiency in Redux, Redux Saga, and Hooks
• Understanding of REST APIs and offline storage
• Experience with automated testing suites like Jest and React Testing Library

Desirable Skills:

• Backend API development experience in .NET Core
